This is an actual conversation I had with my sister-in-law a few weeks ago. I had just noticed a strange development in my thighs: a horizontal indentation midway down, just in the front. At first I thought it might be because, like, my thighs were getting really muscular from walking more! But then I looked at some pictures of people with actually muscular thighs, and it turns out that thigh muscles are more vertical in their orientation. After spending several hours in an internet thigh-hole and consulting with my sister-in-law (who I had decided was a Thigh Expert because she plays rugby and has amazing thighs), I discovered the true, horrifying cause of my deformity: too much leaning against the counter behind the bar where I work had caused a semi-permanent dent in my muscles. And now I spend all my time at work avoiding leaning on anything ever, waiting for my muscles to, I don’t know, grow back??
